don’t waste your time
That said, it was NOT a waste of my time. Most of the book was unhelpful to me because I have been learning to do this all of my life, the book gave very few examples or lessons on how to apply, and there were no good case studies presented until the very end (and even then there were only two). I did learn though how to think on this topic properly. That is, long term. And I did learn that it is important to allow my “subject” to come to the conclusion seemingly on their own or else I risk loosing my influcence and do not get the intented change or focus from them. That makes sense. I have experienced that before. Actually, I have struggled with this some given that genius idea the person had latter on was I know very well from me. I have had trouble with needing credit, recognition. But I can see how that has largely thwarted my plans to take over the world. Jk. (no one reads this anyway, right?)
It comes naturally to me. It is NOT why I was successful in sales (I wouldn’t say I was). I wear my emotions on my sleave much of the time (ENFJ). But that and this are why I can have some influence in groups and one-on-one.
