Meh, overcooked
Kathleen Dowling Singh, author of The Grace in Aging and The Grace in Living, turns her attention here to the dissolution of the separate self. Drawing on Buddhist and non-dual teachings, the book explores how loosening our identification with the "I" opens us to a deeper, more spacious awareness, which she frames as a kind of grace.
For me, it didn't land. The ideas are familiar to anyone who has spent time with contemplative literature, and the prose circles them at length without adding much. I found it superfluous and overcooked: a lot of language for something that is better pointed to than elaborated. If you're new to non-dual teachings, you may get more from it than I did. If you've been around the block, you may find yourself skimming.
This was another from the stack I occassionaly read out loud to my mom.
